The base displays two doors which open to reveal their original top to bottom lock, one shelf, and are decorated with foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons and beautiful quarter veneered panels framed within lovely scrolled foliate inlaid designs also repeated at the drop down front and sides. The drop down front opens to reveal its original hardware and original fitted gold tooled leather writing surface, two drawers with fine ormolu pulls, and one shelf.
